More Innocent Than Guilty – Gucci Guilty Pour Homme Fragrance Review
In this article, I’ll be providing a review on Gucci Guilty Pour Homme. A fragrance by the house of Gucci as evident by the name.
Gucci Guilty is a wonderful fragrance! It’s uncomplicated, and smooth. It appears to be extremely nicely mixed, and there isn’t a single note that stands out to me. This is a very safe, crowd-pleasing perfume. I’d be surprised if anyone thought it smelled horrible as you walked down the street wearing it. I believe it is reviled by the scent community because it isn’t “unique.” If you’re wanting to establish a large collection, then Gucci Guilty might not be for you, However, if you’re seeking for a few extremely solid perfumes, then this one will suffice. Without a doubt, it will receive compliments.
Gucci Guilty is the epitome of safe, generic, and crowd-pleasing fragrance. However that does not mean there’s anything fundamentally wrong with the composition. I keep a couple samples on hand as a backup, and wear them on occasion. It has a gleaming, glossy gun-metal grey appearance that complements the bottle’s style. It starts out citrusy, and sweet, then settles into a thin polyphony of chilly lavender, vanilla, pink pepper, white flowers, patchouli, and cedar, strengthened by some Iso E Super. This would have had more backbone, and piqued my interest if it had a hint of oakmoss in the base. It is a fine woody fragrant perfume for the masses.
Gucci Guilty has an uncanny ability to be personable, and engaging. It’s flirtatious without being arrogant, yet it’s also distinct and assured. It draws you in since its sillage, and projection aren’t outstanding, but instead of announcing “look at me,” it says “I’m here.” You’ll probably have to reapply in the middle of the day, but I don’t mind because it smells so delicious.
Backstory
Gucci Guilty was Gucci’s debut to coincide with La Nuit D’Lomme, Bleu De Chanel, and the following wave of citrus/woody/pepper notes in current men’s perfumes. Four years later, it appears like Dior Sauvage got it right, particularly in terms of marketing. It isn’t much better than Gucci Guilty, but judging by the sales, you wouldn’t know it.
Gucci Guilty is a wonderful scent that is sometimes misinterpreted. It smells more like a Paco Rabanne-style fragrance than a Gucci scent (think Nobile, Envy, PH, PH2). Gucci Guilty may have been a little ahead of its time, or precisely timed, but it somehow missed the marketing it deserved.
Guilty Pour Homme was created with care for guys who know what they want and how to achieve it. In this daring and sexy composition, the charismatic alpha man, a genuine magnet for females, is depicted. The aroma begins with lavender and lemon, giving room for the highly enticing fragrances of orange blossom to emerge. Warm woody notes of cedar and patchouli reinforce the basic tones, giving the overall composition a solid but thrilling and gentle coloring.
Gucci’s Guilty Pour Homme is a Woody Aromatic scent for men. In 2011, Guilty Pour Homme was released. Jacques Huclier is the perfumer behind this scent. Lavender and Amalfi Lemon are the top notes; African Orange Flower is the middle note; Virginia Cedar, Patchouli, and Vanilla are the base notes.
Review
Gucci Guilty is a wonderful scent. Yes, it’s generic, but it’s still lovely. With an air of lavender, and patch, the orange and vanilla really come out to play on my skin, making this extremely manly but little fun. Its sweetness makes it a year-round favorite, but it’s just fresh enough in the summer to truly shine. It straddles the border between casual, and formal dressing. Because it’s largely a skin fragrance, I’m sure it’d make a terrific workplace aroma if you work in that setting.
Gucci Guilty Pour Homme starts with a medium projection of citrus, white floral, and woody notes that are moderately sweet. The start is fine; it’s standard, fresh, little powdered, and delightful. The citrus and white floral notes created by the lemon and orange blossom are quite pleasant, albeit the sharpness is short-lived. The scent rapidly develops an unnamed powdery accord that balances out the citrus tones.
The lavender in Gucci Guilty is more of a background note than the citrus, and white flower scents. The base notes emerge, and become more prominent as time goes, although they are not as strong as the citrus, and white flowery notes. Patchouli adds a fresh green note, cedar adds a fresh wood note, and vanilla adds just a hint of sweetness. The smell has just one noteworthy opening to dry-down transition; the opening is quite strong, and powerful for a brief instant before subsiding behind a soft powdery accord.
Gucci Guilty Pour Homme is a moderate projection, moderately powdery sweet, citrus, white floral scent with green, and woody overtones that dries down to a moderate dry-down. Casual, clean, delicate, diurnal, dry, elegant, white floral, fresh, somewhat green, mild, moderate-quality, modern, natural, playful, sour, sporty, slightly sweet, unisex, white, woody, and pleasant are all words that come to mind while describing the smell.

How is the sillage. and longevity of Gucci Guilty Pour Homme?
Gucci Guilty has decent projection, and sillage. The projection during the first hour of spraying is very good, but then it tapers down to decent projection. The performance of the fragrance is quite good. It stays closer to the skin, and isn’t a announcing fragrance, rather it gently introduces itself to people around you.
The lifespan of Gucci Guilty is very good. I can get around 6-7 hours of solid use from this fragrance. However, the fragrance intensity starts to drop down after the first 2 hours of spraying. Gucci Guilty is a great everyday fragrance for any time of the year. The fragrance is an excellent value for money, considering it smells great, it isn’t as common as some other designer fragrances, and is a great compliment getter. The price to performance ratio for fragrance is very good. It is a very good fragrance in my opinion, and it does not deserve the hate it receives in the fragrance community.
How versatile is Gucci Guilty Pour Homme?
Gucci Guilty Pour Homme has very good versatility throughout the year. It is perfect for any occasion, any time of day. The perfume has woody, and spicy elements that make it good for colder seasons. However, the fresh nature of the fragrance makes it an excellent choice for hotter days as well. The fragrance can be worn by people of any age, but I’d reserve it for more youthful individual. Gucci Guilty also strikes the perfect balance between casual, and dressy so it can be worn for any occasion.
Gucci Guilty performance is average. While it isn’t very unique, it’s a pleasant scent to wear on a regular basis. It is also inoffensive and adaptable because to its tight sillage. It’s a fresh, somewhat sweet citrus woody smell that I’d suggest for everyday usage.
Gucci Guilty may appear easy, but it has the effect of making you feel fresh, clean, seductive, and daringly adventurous all at once. Perfect for a hot summer day after a swim or shower, or a cool autumn night. It is a very good fragrance, that still has a place in the world. Daring, sharp, elegant, and polished while remaining pleasingly unoffencive.

Conclusion
Gucci Guilty is one of several in Gucci’s new series of crowd-pleasing fragrances, and while many have panned it here, you have to acknowledge that it works just as it should. While it’s not a trademark smell, a projection monster, or a sillage monster, it’s a nice, unobtrusive, and universally accepted perfume that’s appropriate for office wear or other situations when wearing something clean and quiet is preferable.
