The Father Of Blue Scents – Chanel Bleu de Chanel EdP Fragrance Review

In this article, I’ll be providing a review on Chanel Bleu de Chanel EDP a fragrance by the house of Chanel as evident by the name.

Bleu de Chanel is a blue scent landmark, whether you like it or not. It’s overhyped, pricey, and overrated. Nonetheless, I detect the high-quality citrus, mild resins, woody notes, and overall elegance in this cologne. This perfume is rather complex, and it appears to include a little bit of everything. The EdP version was modified by Jacques Polge, although it remained a woody-aromatic composition that followed the original course. The scent evolves towards a more sensuous, and oriental amber area, as Gabrielle Chanel would have preferred.

Chanel Bleu de Chanel EdP is one of the most well-balanced fragrance I’ve ever encountered. Nothing shines out too much; everything works together to create a harmonic whole. The citrusy-fruity beginning is immediately followed by a woody depth, and a nice, but hardly discernible sweetness. For me, a plus is that the scent doesn’t alter much as it develops; the citrus notes fade away, but Bleu de Chanel keeps its fresh, clean quality, with the woody accords becoming even stronger. It never smells strong, acidic, or sweet, and the perfume lasts for hours, which is something I can’t say about many fresh perfumes. It’s a real all-rounder that may be worn in every setting, and is regarded as pleasant by practically everyone.

Chanel Bleu de Chanel is a beautiful scent that fulfils all of the requirements for a blue fragrance. It begins with a citrus scent that develops into the typical woody BDC trademark dry down. It has a more synthetic composition than the Parfum, and has better projection. However, it fades faster than the Parfum. Even while both are masterpieces with largely the same DNA, I believe the EDP version fits the younger market more than the more polished Parfum.

Backstory

Chanel’s Bleu de Chanel is an elegant, and modern fragrance that debuted in 2010. In the summer of 2014, Chanel released their improved version, Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum. The scent is devoted to infinite, profound, and unlimited freedom.

Jacques Polge’s woody-aromatic composition maintains the original path but deviates into sensuous, and exotic amber region. This variety preserves the original’s freshness while adding depth and silky amber woods.

Jacques Polge is the perfumer behind this scent. Grapefruit, Lemon, Mint, Pink Pepper, Bergamot, Aldehydes, and Coriander are among the top notes; Ginger, Nutmeg, Jasmine, and Melon are among the middle notes; and Incense, Amber, Cedar, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Labdanum, and Amberwood are among the base notes.

Review

Chanel’s Bleu de Chanel is one of the most beautiful perfumes ever created: a true work of art. It’s energising, exhilarating, stimulating, and reassuring, since you know you’re wearing something that has earned its place at the summit of the perfume mountain. I can’t say enough good things about Bleu de Chanel. Every time I put it on, it gives me a lovely feeling: as if it’s the first time I’ve worn it. The first impact, the subsequent dry-down, and the eventual long-term settling are all a sensory joys.

The cologne combines citrus, spicy, and woody notes creating a scent that is reminiscent of outdoor Spring, and Summer excursions. Cool mint, ginger, and a variety of citrus notes lead the way, with a strong yellow lemon and tart grapefruit in the forefront. The additions of labdanum, and heady patchouli to the center of the mix give it an earthy feel. For the drydown, you’ll get exotic amber, incense, vetiver, and a woody foundation of sandalwood, and cedar. In comparison to prior versions, there is a hint of sweetness added, yet it still produces a refreshing, and manly scent.

Even though I have an array of blue fragrances such as Versace Dylan Blue, or Dior Sauvage which do get more use than Bleu de Chanel. However, Bleu de Chanel EdP is unbeatable when worn with a light wool dark suit, a white-collar shirt, and a silk tie. The best office fragrance.

Chanel Bleu de Chanel EdP Review

Conclusion

Even non-perfume connoisseurs will realize that Bleu de Chanel is a high-quality scent; it just exudes elegance, grandeur, and seriousness. I like to wear the EdP over the EdT. It has a longer shelf life, and seems to be calmer and more balanced. The EdT shines brighter and projects better, although it does not last as long as the EdP. The Bleu de Chanel EdP, is darker, heavier, and richer; it has greater depth, and it slumbers quietly and unobtrusively on the skin while being distinct, and detectable.

Despite the fact that other other blue scents have been launched by various manufacturers to mimic a feeling similar to Bleu de Chanel. BDC remains instantly recognisable to me owing to its distinct features. Despite their huge popularity with men’s perfumes, Chanel does not issue a lot of flankers like most other companies; instead, each scent they release is incredibly deliberate, original, and timeless.

I hope you enjoyed my review on Bleu de Chanel EdP by Chanel. As always, if you’ve found the article interesting don’t forget to share it with others. I’d love to know about your thought on Bleu de Chanel EdP in the comments. Take care, god bless, and keep smelling fantastic. 🙂
