In this article, I’ll be providing a review on Dior Homme Intense a fragrance by the house of Dior as evident by the name.
Dior Homme Intense drapes itself around the wearer like a soft velvet robe, settling in warm, delicate features and engulfing him in a powdered, dry, pleasantly soft atmosphere.
Slowly, the scent absorbs into the skin, and with the constant, opulent iris note, cedar wood emerges after a while, but it always remains in the background, never overshadowing the primary protagonist, the iris.
Dior Homme Intense, in contrast to the perfume, places a greater emphasis on the iris. As a result, the Intense is less fresh, more powdered, and warmer.
Backstory
Dior Homme Intense is a warmer, sexier version of Dior Homme for guys who enjoy the original. The house has preserved the core notion of the original perfume, which is based on a powdered iris note, while adding more strong, long-lasting tonalities. The slogan of this third chapter in the narrative, following the eau de toilette and the cologne, is “Be a man, dare to wear scent in the evening.” To satisfy the standards of exquisite evening dress, Dior recommends wearing this eau de perfume like a tuxedo.
Dior Homme Intense is a Woody Floral Musk fragrance for men, it was launched in 2011. Francois Demachy is the perfumer behind this scent. Iris, Ambrette (Musk Mallow), and Pear are the top notes, while Virginia Cedar and Vetiver are the middle and base notes, respectively.
Review
Dior Homme Intense despite the Iris note, is a smooth, warm, welcoming, and sophisticated male scent. When it comes to when to wear it, it’s best for cooler weather and more formal occasions, whether for work or pleasure. It gets a lot of praises and lasts a long time. It would be a great with a suit, nicely made and not boisterous, but a head-turner and unforgettable nonetheless if it were an item of clothing. The original version has a longer lasting perfume than the more current ones, but it’s still a lovely scent.
Lavender, vanilla, and iris are the first notes that come to me when I think about Dior Homme Intense. It’s the iris that conjures up images of lipstick or cosmetics and brings people’s attention to DHI. The iris grows more vivid and powdery with time. It becomes hotter and more sensuous. The narrative thickens and becomes more strange after around 1 or 2 hours. I’m not sure what notes make up this impression, but I’m guessing pear, vetiver, and amber (which together with vanilla and iris, form a chocolate-like aroma). This phase lasts for a long period, until the basic notes appear (more woody). Even yet, DHI is a composition based on the iris. Hence, even in the dry down the iris note is prominent.
If you like the iris note, this is the best blind-buy you’ll ever make. The iris is prominent throughout, with a lavender at the top, while the cedar lends a little chocolaty note to the aroma. There’s a great deal of balance here; it never becomes too sweet while yet allowing the iris to shine.
I enjoy and respect all three versions of Dior Homme, but my particular favorite is the Intense. The Iris smell is probably associated with happy childhood memories that remind me of many things, which is why I’m so captivated by it. Whoever likes sweet fragrances will adore this one. Even though I don’t wear this scent every day, I frequently take off the cap and smell it, and I thoroughly appreciate it!

How is the sillage. and longevity of Dior Homme Intense?
Dior Homme Intense has strong projection. and an equally strong sillage. However, the performance of the fragrance is somewhat lacking.
The lifespan of the fragrance is average. I can feel it on my skin 4-5 hours, and it has very soft project after the initial hour of spraying the cologne. The fragrance is an excellent value for money, considering it smells niche, and is sure to get you compliments.
How versatile is Dior Homme Intense?
Dior Homme Intense fragrance is in my opinion a masterpiece and very versatile. It’s appropriate for all the colder seasons of the year, and it’ll appeal to the majority of individuals. However, what I would advise against, is to wear this scent in high summer, the iris note can become quite polarising in high heat.
I’d recommend Dior Homme Intense for people above the age of 25. It isn’t a really fun fragrance per-say, instead it conveys a sense of seriousness and tranquility.
Dior Homme Intense is a pleasant, sweet, and sensual fragrance, that is appropriate for formal settings. If you don’t go overboard with the sprays, it’s unobtrusive and simple to wear. An excellent fragrance for wearing to a black-tie event or something upscale.

Dior Homme Intense scent is one-of-a-kind and unmistakable, a designer gem that is everything from popular. If you enjoy iris and want a perfume with a bit more depth, wood, and powderiness, the Bois d’Argent from the Dior Privee range is a good choice.
DHI is a fantastic scent. Dior may just have been one of the first houses to successfully implement the notion of iris in men’s perfumes. This may be observed in Valentino Uomo (Intense), Givenchy Gent, and other younger relatives. Dior take the core concept and reinterpret it into a spectacular fragrance.
