Really synthetic, impressively strong – Yves Saint Laurent Y EDP Review
In this article, I’ll be providing a review on Yves Saint Laurent Y EDP a fragrance by the house of Yves Saint Laurent as evident by the name.
If you’ve never tried Yves Saint Laurent Y EDP, and are curious about its scent, know that it’s just another fighter in the battle of the blues, which also includes Versace pour Homme, Versace Dylan Blue, Bleu de Chanel, and Dior Sauvage. Thanks to its fruity and greenish, somewhat creamy and fresh, spicy notes composition, it does not smell like many other contemporary blue scents, which is a positive thing.
Yves Saint Laurent Y EDP has a much more character and complexity than the EDT. Fresh, sharp, acidic, and sweet apple and citrus notes are followed by green, fragrant, fresh peppery, and herbal notes. Despite the fact that the apple is pretty synthetic, it is really delicious and stimulating. It’s sweeter than the other blue scents I can think of such as Dior Sauvage. My review on which you can read here. The addition of sage and geranium provides a herbal flavor that makes this one-of-a-kind. The woodsy and somewhat smoky elements become more obvious as it dries. Behind the more contemporary components, there’s a smidgeon of fougere DNA. The perfume is energizing and invigorating, and it makes me feel revitalized and confident.
Backstory
YSL released a new edition to its Y fragrance line, Y EDP, in a darker container. Y Eau de Parfum, is described as “a sensual scent rendition of Yves Saint Laurent’s trademark white T-shirt and black jacket”. Dominique Ropion, a perfumer, designed the new scent to be deep, fresh, and manly, with aromatic, spicy, woody, and fougere notes.
YSL Y Eau de Parfum is a masculine Aromatic Fougere scent by Yves Saint Laurent. In 2018, Y Eau de Parfum was released. Dominique Ropion is the perfumer behind this scent. Apple, Ginger, and Bergamot are the top notes; Sage, Juniper Berries, and Geranium are the middle notes; while Amberwood, Tonka Bean, Cedar, Vetiver, and Olibanum are the foundation notes.
Review
This is the ideal popular designer scent. A compliment magnet which outperforms the competition. YSL did a fantastic job.
The long-term durability of the fragrance is excellent. The sillage, which I appreciate a lot, is fairly constant over a long period of time. You should absolutely take advantage of any sales that come along. Because, as previously said. The scent may be used at any time of year.
Yves Saint Laurent Y EDP combines woody and fragrant notes with crisp green apple, ginger, and faint citrus overtones. It exposes itself with light and dark fougère aspects. The smoothness of the opening grabs my attention right away. The apple note in particular jumps out, giving it a juicy, somewhat sweet flavor. Even though I don’t like anything too sweet, I find the head phase to be too sweet, frightening, and noisy for me. I believe the sage slightly distorts the apple note. The spicy ginger is very prominent, and I think it works nicely with the delicate creamy bergamot to enliven the opening. The citrus peel aroma fades quickly, giving more room for fiery ginger and a hint of sourness.

How is the sillage. and longevity of Yves Saint Laurent Y EDP?
YSL Y EDP has strong projection. and an equally strong sillage, it’s an extremely well performing fragrance.
The lifespan of the fragrance is fantastic. I can feel it on my skin for 8-9 hours, but my clothes always have a lingering scent, even after a day of two of spraying the fragrance. The fragrance is an excellent value for money, considering it smells fantastic, and the smell stays on forever .
How versatile is Yves Saint Laurent Y EDP?
YSL Y EDP fragrance is like a Swiss army knife of perfumes – a fantastic all-rounder that can be utilised in a variety of ways. It’s appropriate for all seasons and events, and it’ll appeal to the majority of individuals.
I’d recommend YSL Y for younger individuals. Someone more mature should look for something more complex, such as Acqua Di Gio by Giorgio Armani. Even-though YSL Y might still do the job for you.
YSL Y is a pleasant, long-lasting fresh scent that is appropriate for both informal and professional settings. If you don’t go overboard with the sprays, it’s unobtrusive and simple to wear. An excellent fragrance for work.

Conclusion
Yves Saint Laurent Y EDP is in my opinion a solid everyday fragrance.
YSL Y is a scent that appeals to the masses. Certainly not a one-of-a-kind scent. However, it isn’t an awful scent. Although the aroma does not receive a perfect score, the great majority of people find it pleasant and appealing. I believe it is better appropriate for younger individuals. It genuinely fits in any situation, whether it’s at the club, school, or on a date. Anyone who enjoys Dior Sauvage or Armani Acqua di Gio should give this scent a go.
This is the blue fragrance for you if you want something a little sweeter but still seductive.
