Smooth, Clean, Sinus-opening shower gel – Dior Sauvage Review
In this article, I’ll be providing a review on Dior Sauvage a fragrance by the house of Dior as evident by the name.
Dior Sauvage is an incredibly versatile fragrance, you can wear it everywhere and anytime, whether you’re shopping in the city, at work, out to dinner with your partner, or hanging out with the boys at a beach bar in Mallorca.
Dior Sauvage has been a popular scent since its inception, and it continues to remain so. People presently say that this fragrance is fairly prevalent and that it does not have a distinct scent. To be honest, I’ve had a lot of compliments from men and women who have no idea it’s Dior Sauvage! The aroma smells fine but not great in my view; nonetheless, the performance of the EDT impresses me the most, and that is why I would recommend sauvage as an excellent cologne choice, if your looking for that one all-rounder scent.
Backstory
Dior introduced the Sauvage, as a new fragrance inspired by the 1966 scent Eau Sauvage, albeit the two were not related. Sauvage is inspired by wide-open areas, azure skies that blanket rocky terrain, and the scorching heat of the desert sun.
This formulation was signed by Dior’s in-house perfumer, François Demachy. The scent is described as being at once shockingly fresh, raw, and noble. The formula is said to be made up of natural elements that were carefully chosen. Calabria bergamot’s fresh top notes collide with ambroxan, a woody compound derived from valuable ambergris.
Johnny Depp is the face of Dior Sauvage, it was first released in September 2015. The Eau de Toilette concentration which we’ll be reviewing today comes in 60 and 100 ml sizes.
Review
Dior Sauvage is straightforward, basic, fresh, and clean. It appeals to the masses, and I get a ton of compliments using it. This is the fragrance of a guy who wants to smell nice, without attracting unwanted attention. The performance is excellent. I’m sure I’ll keep wearing it for a long time to come
The fragrance opens with a spicy bergamot base and gradually transitions to ambroxan, as many others reviews on the internet have remarked a presence of lavender, I honestly don’t detect lavender, but I do detect a hint of vanilla and star anise later in the dry down.
For a scent in this price category, the longevity is pretty impressive. It is still there in the evening after being sprayed on the garments in the morning.
Overall, a fantastic scent for which I have never had any unfavourable criticism. Dior Sauvage is one of the few perfumes that may be purchased blindly, in my view.
Dior Sauvage may not be your or even my holy grail perfume, but we must give credit where credit is due, and we cannot ignore how significant this scent is and how it has molded modern perfumery, with all of its positive and negative aspects.

Dior Sauvage has strong projection. and an equally strong sillage, it’s an extremely well performing fragrance.
The lifespan of the fragrance is fantastic. I can feel it on my skin for 6-7 hours, but my clothes always have a lingering scent, even after a day of two of spraying the fragrance. The fragrance is an excellent value for money, considering it smells fantastic, and the smell stays on forever .
How versatile is Dior Sauvage?
Dior Sauvage is the scent equivalent of a Swiss army knife. It’s appropriate for all seasons and events, and it’ll appeal to the majority of individuals. Although I believe it is expensive, it continues to dominate the market seven years after its introduction.
The definition of mass appeal, and a real mainstay of men’s perfumery. Dior Sauvage was one of my first perfumes, and it was also the only one that won me accolades years ago before I became a fraghead.
